2020 has shown us that we have far to go. With the injustices that constantly plague the African American community, these T's are a reminder that we are the "Key Solution" during this Pandemic.
The future is hard to predict. But one thing we do know is that we will need resources to fuel our mission in years to come. That’s why we’ve established the DMC Endowment Fund at the Dare Minority Coalition. The fund is professionally invested for the long-term. Each year, 5% of the average fund balance is distributed to us to support our ongoing needs. To ensure funds are constant, the fund is powered by the ONPASSIVE

Interactive DEMO of United Re-entry App
Formerly incarcerated people may struggle with reclamation to standard living. Being a productive citizen after being released from jail can be difficult. Without the proper resources, people may fall into the same old pattern and be arrested again.
The United Re-entry Resources App is a unique smartphone application designed for newly-released former prisoners. The application is intended to help people integrate with society, get jobs, support families, and more. The application can support any resource needed for a former inmate to get back on their feet.
Users will be able to see what businesses are offering jobs and what colleges can offer classes relating to certificates and job placement. Businesses, colleges, etc. can display advertisements on the application for a subscription fee. Small businesses and temp agencies may also make use of the application. Transitional housing, probation officer resources, courts, lawyers, etc. can also offer their resources through the portal.
Pre-screen questions can be supplied to participants such as registering as a sex offender, applying for housing assistance, and what type of convictions they have. There can be options for treatment plans and goals that can be shared between themselves and case workers.
Exact specifications may vary upon further development.

What we are doing for our community is much needed in every community in our county, state, country and globally. One of DMCs main objectives is focusing on affordable housing for long term renters that are faced with a steady increase of their rent.
Based on the statistics of the American Community Survey, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the North Carolina Court system, the NLIHC 2018 Out of Reach Report and the U.S. Department of Energy for Dare County, 40% of renters have difficulty affording their homes. That’s 1,694 households. 35% of homeowners have difficulty paying their mortgage, that’s a staggering 3,544 households in Dare County alone. It is imperative for the future of the economy here in Dare County to be able to house its full time residents. These people make up the workforce. They also need to be able to live here.
The re-entry portion of our program focuses on helping formerly incarcerated residents re-enter the workforce locally. Our partners will include College of the Albemarle (a local community college), Dare County Sheriff Department, Dare County Recovery Court and Dare County Detention Center to help with the transition for inmates.
Integral to our mission is our community outreach with projects focusing on education, music and the arts, our youth empowerment and community/peace garden.
